2020 progress in the North Houston District

There’s exciting things happening here this year!

Exciting Events At Rockstar Energy Bike Park

For extreme-sports enthusiasts, the Rockstar Energy Bike Park in the northwest quadrant of the District at 12257 Kuykendahl Rd., will host the Lone Star Nationals in March and the UCI BMX World Championships in late May.

Coca-Cola Plant In North Houston District

In March, Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages (an Arca Continental Company), will be finalizing its move to the southwest quadrant of the District known as Pinto Business Park.

This will be Coke’s newest plant built in the U.S. in the last 10 years consisting of one million square feet of production, distribution, warehouse and sales space with approximately 1,000 employees.

Hilton Undergoes State Of The Art Upgrade

Currently, one of the largest hotels in the District is undergoing some significant renovations worth $35 million.
The Hilton Houston North Hotel on Greenspoint Drive is going to impress guests in 2020.

Collaboration For A Brighter Future

While those projects and events take place, the North Houston District will also complete its study this spring on improvements to Greenspoint known as the Livable Centers Study, in partnership with the Houston-Galveston Area Council. This is an exciting project for the District due to the changes that may be implemented in the Greenspoint quadrant following the study like redevelopment of resilient housing, creation of a Central Park along the bayou, improvements to sidewalks near schools and redevelopment of the mall. Next steps include a public meeting in for February.
